KAICEDRA CONSULTING SAS is a forward-thinking company specializing in environmental solutions and sustainable development. Founded in Bamako, Mali, Kaicedra Consulting is driven by the vision of creating healthier and more resilient communities across Africa through innovative technology and citizen engagement.  

The company's mission is to empower citizens and organizations with cutting-edge tools and data-driven insights to tackle environmental and sanitation challenges, leading to improved living conditions and sustainable development. 

The flagship product is Map Action, designed to bridge the communication gap between citizens and local authorities regarding environmental issues. By leveraging technology, Map Action empowers everyday people to report environmental and sanitation problems in their communities via a user-friendly mobile app. 

Results to date: The app has been tested in Bamako, reaching over 2500 downloads and receiving 1000 reports of environmental issues in the city. Of those problems, relevant authorities resolved 159, and 315 were analysed and considered. Six municipalities of Bamako were involved in the testing, and the users age ranged from 18 to 35 years old. 

Workplan: During the investment period the app will be piloted beyond Bamako. The aim is to use the funding to expand the reach and extend the deployment of the app through partnerships with local governments and reach 10 000 downloads and receive 1000 incidents report during the investment period.

Investment rationale: MapAction promotes citizen engagement, mapping and incident reporting at the community level which are priorities, mainly in fragile and conflict-affected countries. The underlying frontier technology could also be used for alternate programmatic purposes.
