OS City is developing a blockchain application to securely allocate and trace subsidies, procurements and purchases related to programmes for vulnerable youth. The application is intended to be used as a tool for municipal governments, but private sector, citizens and academia will be able to contribute and consume information online. The platform assists governments to certify information using a blockchain platform for data on subsidies, procurement, purchases and many other transactions. Using this technology, governments will have continuous access to new and better data, which will improve trust and accountability in public institutions. OS City is focusing on improving the distribution of resources, and accountabilities in contractual engagements. By the end of the investment duration, OS City seeks to scale up by licensing the technology, selling intelligence and data services to city-state governments and engaged businesses, and monetizing raw data.
